Curtains And Valances Make A Difference

Curtains And Valances
Curtains alone do a neat job of adding grandeur to any room, but try valances together with your choice of curtains and see the magic that takes place in the room!  It’s unbelievable but true.  Valances have an electrifying effect on ordinary curtains that works wonders in decorating any ordinary room’s windows or doors.
The main factors that should be taken into consideration for this magic to happen is the choice of fabric and colors, the size and shape of the valances and the location of the window.

The basic purpose for using curtains is to block out the excess sunlight or the excess cold from entering the room.  Another good reason is if your house window overlooks a busy street, it can serve the purpose of avoiding prying passersby.  But at the same time one would prefer to have something looking beautiful and attractive that would seem attractive too for the passerby.

The first factor is the color.  The choice of colors for small rooms to look bright, for example the kitchen or the bathroom, one can choose yellow curtains.  Floral prints should be avoided since they would cut down the available space but geometric designs will do a good job.

The quality and texture of the fabric should be chosen according to the climatic conditions of the country one lives in.  if most of the year it is sunny then linen or cotton fabrics for curtains and valances are ideal.  This would allow the room to remain cool.  Chiffon too would add that romantic feel in the room if you so desire it.

Valances can either be attached to same curtain rod or a glass sticking tape can be used to attach the valance on to the curtain.  Valances are of different types, some scalloped, some arched and some have gathers right up their centers and borders making use of ribbon, beads, shells or any decorative material.

Curtaining is always expensive and hence one should take care to check the quality of the fabric before getting the item.  One meter of the fabric can be got and made to soak to check if it shrinks more than the expected four to five percent.  The fabric should be checked if it is compatible with the sunlight falling on it.  These precautions taken, the fabric is good and will last for long.

Go online and choose the best design and shape for curtains and valances before settling for one.  Each design is exclusive and could be a feast to the eyes.
